Hi, I’m Aicha Katty.

Rooted in Experience, Guided by Compassion

These are just a few of the identities I hold close — and they all shape how I show up for the people I serve.

I know what it’s like to move through life carrying invisible weight. As a woman, a mother, a daughter, and a professional, I’ve walked through seasons of exhaustion, grief, depression, and self-doubt. I’ve also walked through healing.

My work is deeply personal. I’ve been on the other side of the experience — unsure of what healing could look like. No matter where you’re starting from, I want you to know: you don’t have to carry it all alone.
I created InnerClarity Psychiatry & Wellness as a safe, inclusive space for people of all backgrounds to explore healing, reclaim their inner clarity and strength, and feel truly seen.

Who I am

My Mission

At InnerClarity Psychiatry & Wellness, my mission is to offer compassionate, holistic, and evidence-based mental health care. I’m here to meet you exactly where you are — with empathy, respect, and curiosity. Together, we’ll explore what wellness means to you.

Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, burnout, or life transitions, I offer personalized care that blends science, soul, and supportive presence. Through education, medication when appropriate, and authentic connection, I aim to empower you to find your inner clarity and move toward lasting well-being.

My Vision

I envision a world where mental wellness is honored as an essential part of life — not a luxury or an afterthought. A world where individuals feel safe to be fully themselves, supported in their growth, and connected to a more profound sense of purpose and joy.

My Story

My journey into healthcare began during one of the hardest seasons of my life, when my mother was diagnosed with cancer. As a first-generation African immigrant and new nursing student at the time, I was navigating a lot. When she passed away mid-way through my education, I met grief head-on.

Through the pain, I continued forward — completing my Associate Degree in Nursing at Inver Hills Community College, my BSN at the College of St. Scholastica, and eventually earning my Doctor of Nursing Practice from Winona State University.

Along the way, I also encountered my own mental health challenges — grief, depression, anxiety, and burnout. These experiences didn’t break me; they softened me, deepened my empathy, and reminded me of the importance of culturally sensitive, person-centered care.

I’ve worked across diverse clinical settings — primary care, nursing homes, home health, and hospital units — and each environment taught me the importance of seeing the whole person, not just the symptoms. My years in family medicine gave me a deep understanding of the body’s role in mental health, and my psychiatric training gave me the tools to heal the mind.
Today, I bring all of these experiences into my practice — not as someone who has it all figured out, but as someone who truly gets it.

Today, I am licensed to practice in both Minnesota and Iowa, offering virtual care that reaches individuals across both states — including those in rural and underserved communities where access to psychiatric providers is limited.

My Path to Psychiatric Mental Health Practice

Like many, my path wasn’t linear — it was lived.

I know the weight of depression and anxiety, not just from textbooks, but from my own life. I’ve experienced postpartum depression and seasons where joy felt like a distant memory. I understand how isolating it can feel when your outer life keeps moving, but your inner world feels stuck.

These moments weren’t the end of my story — they became part of my purpose. They showed me how powerful it is to receive care that feels safe, validating, and whole-person focused.

My holistic practice is rooted in my commitment to being that kind of support for others. Not someone who rushes to fix, but someone who listens, holds space, and helps you reconnect with the parts of yourself that still believe in healing.

My Work Philosophy

At the heart of my practice is a deep belief that true health is not just the absence of symptoms — it’s a state of well-being, a sense of balance between your mind, body, soul, and spirit.

I believe that healing happens when you feel safe, seen, and supported. When your story is honored. When your care is built around your whole self, not just a diagnosis.

Above all, I believe in your ability to grow, heal, and come home to yourself. And I’m here to walk with you — every step of the way.
